TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
Tarangire's landscape is unique, featuring ancient Baobab trees and a rich diversity of wildlife drawn to the river during the dry season. Keep an eye out for the park's rare tree-climbing lions, often spotted resting in Acacia trees. Tarangire is also renowned for its large elephant herds, among the biggest in the world.
NGORONGORO CRATER
Once a volcano, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is now the largest intact caldera in the world, with a huge variety of wildlife including black rhinos (just ~6,000 left in the wild), lesser flamingos, and African wild dogs. It's often easier to spot wildlife in Ngorongoro Crater as the landscape is almost entirely flat.
